$100 Gift Certificate Contest Rules

1. Contest runs from October 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009
2. One winner will be randomly selected during the week of January 4th 2010 from among all valid entries received. Official prize notification will be made online at www.downtownowensound.ca.
3. A  total of $100 in Downtown Owen Sound Gift Certificates will be awarded to the winner.
4. Ballots must be completed in full and must be deposited in one of the ballot boxes at participating Downtown Owen Sound restaurants, cafes, or food shops.
5. Ballots are included on the “A Taste Of The Sound – Your Downtown Owen Sound Culinary Experience” brochure cards which are available at most Downtown merchants and businesses (as well as at other select tourism outlets).
6. Only official entry ballots are acceptable. Facsimiles will not be accepted.
7. No purchase necessary to enter. Making a purchase will not increase your chances of winning.
8. No substitution of prize(s).
9. There is no cash or exchange value for the prize(s).
10. On behalf of the merchants and businesses of Downtown Owen Sound, the Owen Sound Downtown Area is the sole sponsor of this promotion.
11. Employees and Board members of the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area are not eligible.
12. Participants are responsible for complying with these official Contest rules.
13. The Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area retains the sole discretion to make decisions regarding the interpretations and applications of these rules. All decisions of the The Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area are final.
14. Winners are responsible for any and all taxes and gratuities associated with prize(s).
15. To claim their prize, winners will be required to identify themselves with a valid photo identification. Winners will be required to pick up their Gift Certificates at Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area office at 854 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound.
16. Unclaimed prize(s) will be forfeited. A prize is deemed unclaimed if not picked up within 6 months of draw date.
17. The odds of winning the prize(s) depend(s) upon the number of participants.
18. By entering the Contest, by winning, or by participating in a Contest- or prize-related activity winners, participants, and guests agree to release the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area, affiliated organizations, and their employees, agents, officers and directors, and their immediate families, successors and assigns as well as all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest including but not limited to sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies and their employees, agents, officers and directors, and their immediate families, successors and assigns, from any and all tax liability, which may be imposed or associated with the prize(s) and any and all claims, actions or proceedings for injuries (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH) or damages sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize(s) or while traveling to, preparing for or participating in any Contest- or prize-related activity. By entering the Contest, by winning, or by participating in a Contest- or prize-related activity, entrants, participants, and their guests have granted the Owen Sound Downtown Improvement Area the right to publicize their name, photograph or likeness, voice and details without compensation and have accepted and agreed to be bound by these rules, unless prohibited by law.
